Advanced Benefits - Connections
|
Another benefit of the Advanced Benefits module is its ability to
connect benefit information to complimentary processes such as the
payroll service, COBRA administrator, or even the benefit carrier
itself. For example, when you connect your benefits to payroll,
any changes to benefit premiums, eligibility requirements, employer
and/or employee contributions, etc.. trigger the system to re-generate
and forward the appropriate employee deduction amounts to the payroll
system. Use the results of these events to produce self-billing
reports, billing reconciliation listing, and even create data-exchange
output files for your benefit carriers. Plus the system offers a
number of convenient benefit views that are designed to better connect
you with your benefit information.

Payroll Deductions
|
|
Within the Advance Benefits module you can link your benefits to
specific deductions in your payroll system. When benefits are
setup in this manner your payroll deductions are maintained
automatically as you manage your Benefits. Each benefit can be
linked to an associated deduction code in a one-to-one relationship,
or you can connect multiple benefits to a single deduction resulting
in a many-to-one relationship. This may be useful, for example,
when you want only one deduction item to appear on the employee pay
stub for Health Coverage, even when this coverage includes
individual benefit enrollments for Medical, Dental and Vision, etc..
When multiple benefits are connected to one payroll deduction,
the system continues to maintain all the same rules, controls, and
history that are in-place for benefits with individual deductions.

Carrier Output
|
|
The Advanced Benefits module has a number of output options that you
can use to communicate with your benefit carrier. Some of
these options include monthly self-billing reports, billing
reconciliation listings, data-exchange files, etc.. In many
cases, both the Age-based and non-Age-based monthly benefit reports
may be used as the Carriers self-bill; each report details
participant coverage levels, enrollment activity and monthly premium
dollars that are due to the Carrier. When not used as a
self-bill, these reports make quick work of reconciling the Carriers
monthly invoice. The system can also create tailored files to
meet Carrier specifications for data-exchange of participant and
dependent activity. These carrier files are limited to those
carriers/providers known by HRtrax. This list of compatible carriers/providers changes over time so
contact us for a
current list.

Employee View
|
HRtrax and the ABC module provide many different views of Benefits
for both the employee and their individual dependents. These
views are presented as various summary screens and detail displays
that offer different ways to look at your benefit data. The
Benefit Summary display, for example, gives you a quick view of each
benefit that an employee is presently enrolled in, or has been
enrolled in, all on a single screen; while the employee view-in
summary (History View 3) displays a quick list of active benefits by
employee. The Dependent Detail screen, on the other hand,
lists all past and present benefits for each dependent along with
enrolled, waived, and/or withdrawn dates. Finally, the Benefit
Enrollment screens along with their companion history screens
collect and display the entire benefit activity for any employee or
dependent.
We have created numerous controls, a host of useful reports, and a
collection of to-the-point displays that will help you manage the very
expensive recurring cost called Benefits. These standard ABC
features will continue to grow with goals of further reducing the
amount of time you spend managing your benefits.
